Did you miss me? Let me actually first start with an apology as I have moved from my email updates from feedburner to Aweber and while I have only ten email subscribers I think I accidentally send you all an email. And I have no idea what that email said… Oops… So you do have to opt in if you want to keep receiving the emails and you might receive this particular post twice as I thought it made just a bit sense to make sure you got this message and the apology anyway. I hate moving stuff around as it always means I mess up something or other!
So we’re back and we had a blast. Well it wasn’t all good, I have to confess as we booked a trip through a travel company called Djoser and we were really not impressed with the itinerary. There were a ridiculous amount of traveldays included in the trip and my idea of a good time is not spending 10 days in a bus from early morning till late afternoon. It was our first and also our last trip with Djoser, I can tell you that… Our group was a lot of fun though even though Tom and I were the youngest of the bunch! I so did not expect that..
Good news is that I figured if these people are so fit at 70, there is no reason for us to fear we cannot go on traveling at that age.
I’ll be sharing some recipes of Laos and Cambodia on my other blog so I won’t be boring you with that here, but both countries are amazing and food is a BIG part of their culture. It’s just simply everwhere. It’s on their minds day and night and you cannot walk anywhere without stumbling across a little foodcart, a market or a temple. The latter having nothing to do with food obviously but if you want to see an abundance of temples this is the place to go! I do love all the little Buddhism rituals and the monks in their beautiful orange robes are always a welcome addition to any picture.

Ok this one this made me laugh; angry bird is big in Laos apparently and combined with those poor chickens…
I’m still processing all the photos (too many market shots and food shots!) but here are just a few and over on Junglefrog Cooking there are a couple more to be found. I’m slowly getting back into blogging mode too, so expect some more from me soon!

Welcome back! Love to see your beautiful photos over here! The asian culture is simply overwhelming and so much different from our european one. I fell in love myself with it while on honeymoon in Thailand and Indonesia 2011 and 2012. Especially the markets are just crazy with the fresh products and how they store it there..just wasn’t sure about food over there at all when I saw that in Denpasar there was no cooling or stuff to eggs ( nearly imagined little chickens cracking out of the eggs any time as it was so hot) and fish or meat. An experience I will never forget!
So have yourself a lazy sunday fighting the jetlag
Hugs, Jasmin
Thanks dear! And yes I’ve had my share of ‘yuck’ moment when going over the markets; in one market in Laos there were so many flies crawling all over the meat and fish that I was starting to worry.. In the end it is possibly the same meat we were eating in the evening after all..
But we survived! Haha.. But yes, love Asia!
YAYYYYY! Welcome home…..we missed you and your gorgeous photos!!!
