Setting your watermark in Lightroom

watermark

For today’s little screencast I am showing you how to make sure you have a watermark on your photos when they appear on your blog of website. While it is not a way to prevent people stealing the photo, you are at least making sure that there is some reminder where the photo came from. Depending on where you place your watermark in the frame, it might be easy to remove or not so it’s by no means a foolproof way! I tend to put the watermark at the bottom of the images as I just don’t like them smack in the middle but if you really want to make it as difficult as possible for people to remove the watermark then the middle position is usually the one to go for. I just find it distracts from the actual photo as well.

There are many more simple ways of adding a watermark to your images and if you do a search online you are likely to find a couple of free software options out there as well. Because I use lightroom for all my editing it makes sense for me to use the same program to add my watermarks. Plus I like the simplicity and easy of use to do this. If you look at the screencast you’ll see that it is fairly simple to set up.

If you have any questions let me know!
