Every so often you realize you were somewhere a long time ago and if you would be there at this particular point in time you would do something entirely different.. That’s a bit of a weird sentence but look at the picture below and it might all make sense to you… I was going through some old photos I took in Vietnam in 2007 – 5 years ago – in an attempt to archive some of the photos so I can find them better.

And then I saw this…. I mean…. seriously?? I took a photo of this shop and did not buy ANYTHING?? Can you imagine that happening today? Nooooo, I certainly can’t. Ok, the reality of the fact is that luggage space is limited when you’re backpacking but if I remember correctly this was in Hanoi and somewhere at the end of our trip, so I could have taken some of those lovely bowls or – you know what – even some chopsticks would make me happy…. Funny too as I recognize some of the patterns on the bowls and plates as being very fashionable at the moment. Sure you can buy it here but the price difference is huge.
So there you have it; I will have to go back to Hanoi to find this little store…
And if you’re going there soon, save some space in your suitcase for prop shopping!

Too funny: “I did not buy anything?”
Can’t imagine you going there without buying a few props now (even when there’s no luggage space, you probably just make it work!). You definitely have to go back yes, enjoy every minute!
I know right? Just looking at that picture I am thinking.. “O, I could have taken that or that and o that is small too and why, why, why, did I not do that??”
Did not buy anything?? Nooooooooo! Crazy chuca! ;o)
I KNOW!!! I am weird like that sometimes..
Not one item. I could not have possibly withstood the temptations. Even before blogging I have been a sucker for pretty bowls, pretty Asian bowls. Yup, I see items in your bag from your upcoming trip to make up for this faux pas.
I’m afraid of the total luggage content at the end of this trip! I might have to ship something home if I manage to find a post office!
Yes, it looks like heaven and it’s a shame that there wasn’t any space in your luggage to take some cuties with you. I think you should make up your prop lack on your upcoming trip.
The funny thing is I remember lots of situations when I enter a shop with so many nice things as a whole lot of style beauty that I can’t decide what to choose. Weird, I know. Admittedly I’m kind of stingy at times so I think I have to splurge more especially in situations where I like everything.
Wish you a beautiful trip with lots of relaxation. I’m excited to read your travel round up and see the traditional selfportrait of Tom and you. I love traditions
Haha… O there will be a couple of those portraits Jasmin… Tom – knowing I cannot see what he is doing – tends to pull a lot of weird faces, so that usually means a lot of ‘re-runs’ before we get a decent picture… Well one that you want to show the world anyway. We keep the rest for fun!
…and those are the best ones regarding your memories of a pleasant holiday and lots of fun
You look at them in a few years and share a good laugh about how silly you were and the fun you had.
