I can still vividly remember the very first time I saw something about matcha on a blog I was reading. It was a dessert with such bright green popping colors! And I had no idea at the time what matcha was, so I started to research it on the internet, finding out it was a green tea made in Japan.
Trying to find it here in a store seemed to be impossible so another blogger was kind enough to send me a few samples and not too long after I managed to find an online source here in the Netherlands.
Matcha has a very distinct flavor and might not be to everyones liking but I love it! And I love the color too. You can add it to desserts, breakfast, cakes or – ofcourse – your tea. Now that I think about it; that is the one thing I never tried! Making tea with it! Haha… On my list for today then.
This image for me works because of the shallow depth of field and the subtle green tones of the background.

This looks awesome! The green colour of matcha looks so appealing against the light background! Just clicked through the link you posted a while ago on Twitter.
Thanks so much Purabi!
I love the colour of matcha tea and have used it in some of my baking! Great for also using in a homemade face mask! Love the different shades and tone of green in the photograph (being Irish we love our shades of green)… beautiful!
Thanks Moya! I hadn’t thought about using it for a facial mask…
So many things to use it for (but limited supply!)
